Spirit Week
Every spring our entire student body participates in the long-awaited Spirit Week. Themed dress up days take place throughout the week such as Decades Day, Wacky Wednesday, and many others. Students compete in crazy games where they earn points to claim the title of Spirit Week Champion. In addition, secondary students participate in class surprise where each grade creates a skit to be judged by our local youth pastors. This is a great week that promotes school spirit and unity!
Red Fred Day
Way back in the 80s, students would dress up the day before a large athletic event to cultivate the Cardinal spirit. One high school student took it to a whole new level and came to school decked out in red, from head to toe. Students soon began to call him “Red Fred.” Thus an SCCS tradition was born and students have been going red like Fred for decades.
Anytime you hear that there is a “Red Fred” day coming, get ready to enjoy some fun-filled bonding. It’s time to pull out everything you have that is red and pile it on! Prizes for “most red” and “most creative” are handed out for both elementary and secondary. As well, the class that shows the most spirit receives the coveted Spirit Stick. Cameo appearances by our very own Cardinal Mascot, “Fred Jr.”, along with game times and fun memories are sure to mark the day.
Thanksgiving Feast
Each year our PTF hosts a traditional Thanksgiving Feast for the entire school. Staff and Students look forward to this special gathering before the Thanksgiving Break.
